Dawn's
Haven
We are a women-only shelter dedicated to helping single women and mothers who are ready to take active steps toward independence. To ensure the safety and success of our community, we focus on serving those who are committed to a structured, goal-oriented program.
"High-barrier" means we have specific entry requirements designed to maintain a safe, drug-free, and stable environment. Unlike emergency drop-in centers, Dawn’s Haven is a program-based shelter. Residents are expected to follow community rules, remain sober, and participate in case management.
Yes. We believe in keeping families together. Dawn’s Haven welcomes children and well-behaved companion pets. We provide specialized support to ensure that both your children and your pets are safe and cared for while you focus on your transition to independence.
To be eligible, applicants must identify as female, be able to pass a drug and alcohol screening upon entry, and commit to remaining substance-free. Residents must also agree to participate in our career, education, or life-skills programs.
Every resident works with a Case Manager to create a "Path to Success" plan. We provide on-site workshops, transportation to local campuses or job sites, and assistance with college applications and FAFSA paperwork.
